Clemson Baseball Weekly Wrap (2/17-2/18)

Clemson rallied to take two of three games from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in the opening series of the 2012 season at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

In game 1 on Friday, Dillon Napoleon and Ryan Nance combined to allow the Tigers only 1 run and 4 hits as UAB rallied for a 2-1 victory.

In game 2 of the series, which was the first game of a doubleheader played on Saturday, Dominic Leone pitched 6 shutout innings and Richie Shaffer and Brad Felder each had two-run home runs as the Tigers cruised to a 6-1 victory.

Game 3 saw the Tigers rally to tie the game at 2 in the seventh and then break it open with a 5 run eighth and hold on for a 7-4 win.  Kevin Pohle threw 4 innings of relief, giving up just 2 hits and no runs to earn the win.

Clemson hosts Maine this weekend in a 3 game series.
